Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner is a new role on the Maintenance team, responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance work. The planner prepares efficient work plans for preventive, predictive, condition-based, and project/backlog maintenance, and coordinates the maintenance schedule with the production schedule.

Working with the Maintenance Manager and the Corporate Purchasing team, the planner makes sure parts, technicians, and equipment are ready before each job begins. The role also owns the plant's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), keeping its data accurate and using it to track maintenance performance and report results to site management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure data accuracy and effective execution of maintenance activities.

• Plan all predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance in coordination with production and operational schedules, making sure technicians, operators, parts, and equipment are available.

• Work with the Corporate Purchasing team and Maintenance Manager to ensure parts are available and ready for each job, and process purchase orders for planned work.

• Prioritize and escalate critical work orders to minimize downtime.

• Keep CMMS records current, including cycle counts and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, when manufacturing, utility, or support equipment is modified, improved, or added.

• Monitor the plant work order backlog and schedule backlog work to keep it at a reasonable level.

• Audit technician data entry in the CMMS for quality and completeness, and provide training and support as needed.

• Work with the Maintenance Manager and technicians to review maintenance requests, convert them into work orders, and give feedback to requestors.

• Develop, monitor, and adjust maintenance schedules to support production goals.

• Generate reports and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance performance, backlog, and schedule compliance, and share insights with site management.

• Support contract execution by preparing scopes of work and managing vendor relationships for parts, services, and equipment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
