School Bus Route SupervisorResponsible for creating, informing, maintaining, and modifying school bus route schedules. Maintains communication with administrators and parents concerning bus route schedules.Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED, Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class B or Class A with Passenger and School Bus Driver Endorsements), Texas School Bus Driver CertificationSpecial Knowledge/Skills: Conflict resolution skills, Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, Ability to communicate effectively, Knowledge of general office equipmentExperience: NoneMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Supervise school bus routes for Department of TransportationDevelop, modify and maintain currency of all regular, special education, prekindergarten and bilingual bus routes in accordance with rules and regulations for the Texas Education AgencyResponsible for gathering all necessary information and preparation of TEA State Reports related to transportation.Answer all queries from district patrons and school personnel regarding bus eligibility for students, as well as coordinating and distributing all bus information and schedules to district schoolsSupervise and coordinate the scheduling of state directed student counts to determine average annual ridershipAssist Director in projects and determine the need for additional routesMaintain a thorough knowledge of the routing system utilized by the Transportation Department and analyze demographics pertaining to enrollment and ridership.Maintain a thorough knowledge of the attendance boundaries, city streets and plans for future growth in the districtAssist with daily route assignmentsMaintain confidentiality of all informationServe as alternate for office positions, as needed, and as a school bus driverWork cooperatively with staff to adjust and modify routes, as neededEquipment Used: Radio communication equipment, computer, typewriter, telephone, intercom system, copier, fax machine, school buses and other district vehicles.
