Shipping ClerkBrook & Whittle is a leading North American provider of sustainable labeling solutions, partnering with top consumer brands and offering a collaborative, innovative culture where you can take pride in creating the labels you see on store shelves every day.The Shipping Clerk will sort and package orders and process shipments in an accurate manner; will coordinate the shipment of truck shipments with customers or logistics companies; will process international and special requirement shipments using the internet.Pay: $16.40-$18.00/hour Competitive pay, medical benefits, life insurance, paid time off, 401(k) with company participation, and a wide range of elective company benefitsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)Utilizes the established quality assurance principals to ensure the quality and accuracy of each orderPackages label orders per customer's specificationsArranges/processes the "exception" shipments (that cannot be processed thru the Shiprite system) using the "carrier websites" on the internetProcesses shipments on the Shiprite system when neededLifts up to 45-pound boxes of labels repetitively throughout the day and push/pulls 75-150-pound carts on wheels or pallets (using a pallet jack).Send incomplete orders back to press when there is insufficient quantity of labels for the order.Modifies orders that need to have changes or corrections made in the OM retrieve system.Contacts the customer directly when there are questions regarding the shipping requirements of an order or when the customer wants to make the freight/shipping arrangements.Scans the barcodes of orders coming into the departmentMoving packed boxes onto conveyor line and/or loading directly onto pallets throughout the day. Using manual pallet jacks to move weight up to 2,000 pounds throughout the day.Job RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.Has proficient understanding of principles in one or more functions. Typically possesses 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience.Performs single function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos.Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.Good verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer operations knowledgeThis position requires contact with shipping dept. team, team members in other departments, customers, and management staffPhysical Requirements & Environmental ConditionsFrequent exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant or hazardous conditions including but not limited to exposure to dust, dirt, high noise levels, chemicals, etc. 21% to 50% of work time.Incumbent constantly required to walk, stand, grasp, reach, push/pull, bend, stoop, twisting, and use of manual dexterity for prolonged periods of time.Incumbent regularly required to hear, speak, and use color vision.Incumbent regularly required to carry and lift up to 50 lbsWork AuthorizationMust be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
