Each of our individual actions collectively define who we are as a company and how the world sees us.What you will do This Senior Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features (QDCF) of suppliers within the Cab Exterior & Body segment. You will be responsible for making sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCF performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross-functional network during production and post-production phases. You will be based out of our Greensboro, NC headquarter location, and will report to the Head of Cab Exterior PU NA. Responsibilities will include: Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Cab Exterior & Body segment Contribute to segment business plan and be an active member in the global network of Buyers Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features targets (QDCF) Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team Monitor and analyze supplier capacity to proactively eliminate potential plant impacts and aftermarket part shortages Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production and post-production phases Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers Skills and Growth You Will Build In This Position:As you develop in this position, you can expect to grow your skills in the areas of expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier management, cost optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.What we are looking for We believe that you will bring: Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration Insights into supplier network and business operations Proven negotiation and communication skills Strong business acumen, agile in way of working Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose Requirements 6+ years of strategic purchasing (e.g. end-to-end supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts) experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent working experience) Experience within the heavy manufacturing industry Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status At the Volvo Group, we strive for a clear, transparent, and straightforward compensation approach, motivating you to contribute to the company’s growth. For this position, the base pay is set at $95,625 - $118,125 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
