Vascular Neurologist

The Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Altoona are seeking a faculty candidate in the Division of Vascular Neurology to serve as a vascular neurologist on the UPMC Altoona campus. The incoming clinician will work closely with the Neuro Interventional team, local and regional neurologists, and advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive care. This opportunity offers flexible remote or on-site work options with no call requirements, alongside academic and research engagement with the Pittsburgh campus. Practice Info Vascular neurology division at UPMC Altoona campus within the Department of Neurology, with 4 vascular neurology physicians that include 2 neurointerventionalists, 5 APPs, and a dedicated clinic staff UPMC Altoona is a 400-bed regional healthcare system providing care to nearly 400,000 residents in central Pennsylvania UPMC Altoona is a Joint Commission certified stroke center and has been performing Neurointerventional procedures since 2018 Clinical services span outpatient clinics, inpatient Vascular Neurology service, and Neurointerventional services, with a separate Neurohospitalist service covering general neurology consultations Clinical teaching opportunities with regularly rotating medical students for their required Neurology Clerkship and for Stroke/NIR electives from both Drexel and University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine Research conducted at the UPMC Altoona campus includes funded clinical trials in stroke including drug and device trials Responsibilities Serve as a vascular neurologist on the UPMC Altoona campus Work closely in partnership with the Neuro Interventional team Collaborate with a dedicated team of local and regional neurologists, neurointerventionalists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons, Advanced Practice Providers, dedicated stroke nurses, and social workers Participate in additional opportunities for collaboration with the Pittsburgh campus including educational lecture series, larger department events, teaching, and research opportunities Compensation Competitive rank and base salary commensurate with experience Sign-on bonus Relocation 6 weeks of salary support for vacation (4 weeks) and for CME allowance (2 weeks) Benefits Outstanding benefit package University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine faculty appointment commensurate with experience Shift & Schedule No Call Remote or On-site Qualifications Must have completed at least one year of vascular neurology fellowship Must have an MD or equivalent Board certified/eligible in Neurology and Vascular Neurology Ability to obtain an unrestricted PA license Open to visa sponsorship
