Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered care across multiple units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and applicable State laws and practice acts.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards of care.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
• Apply critical thinking skills to uphold patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Current and active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• ICU clinical experience required; must be willing to float to Medical Surgical units as needed.
• Extensive Cardiac experience required.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification will be required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment.
• Familiarity with Stroke Neurology or Step-Down ICU patient populations.
