You will join a dynamic global Materials team and work in an environment that provides the opportunity to gain experience across the full lifecycle of the materials, processes, components, and products produced by Rolls-Royce as well as developing key skills and competencies for further personal development. Externally to Rolls-Royce you will manage effective working relationships with our suppliers, supply chain partners and University Technology Centres.What you will be doing:Providing technical materials advice with a focus on new design and new technology development.Leading technologies through the TRL journey including novel materials, manufacturing processes, models and analysis methods.Evaluate the effects of manufacturing processes on material performance.Support design of test programmes, analysis of test data and generating databases for supporting future product designs.Developing, writing, and maintaining materials and process specifications.Support Design, Manufacturing and Service Engineering activities for Civil Large Engine applications.Position qualifications:Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in Materials Science/Engineering or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and the ability to build good working relationships across the business.
