Traveling Construction Equipment Mechanic

Direct Placement | $35-$49/hr + Per Diem | Prevailing Wage Opportunities

We are hiring 3 Traveling Construction Equipment Mechanics for a growing and reputable company that services heavy construction equipment across the country.

Locations:

• 2 positions reporting out of Sleepy Eye, MN
• 1 position reporting out of Rochester, MN

What You'll Do

As a Traveling Construction Equipment Mechanic, you'll travel to jobsites and customer locations to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment including:

• Excavators
• Skid Steers
• Dozers
• Aerial Lifts
• Forklifts
• Wheel Loaders and other heavy equipment

Responsibilities include:

• Performing diagnostics and troubleshooting on hydraulic, electrical, diesel, cooling, fuel, and powertrain systems
• Repairing breakdowns in the field and minimizing equipment downtime
• Conducting preventative maintenance including inspections, fluid changes, lubrication, and filter replacements
• Using manufacturer diagnostic software and computerized troubleshooting tools
• Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
• Maintaining a company-provided service truck and tool inventory
• Responding to urgent equipment breakdowns when needed
• Following all OSHA and company safety standards

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience repairing heavy equipment, diesel equipment, agricultural machinery, or construction equipment
• Strong diesel engine diagnostic and repair experience
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
• Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer and project sites
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field

Preferred Experience

• Mobile field service experience
• Excavator, skid steer, dozer, forklift, or aerial lift repair experience
• Familiarity with computerized diagnostic software
• Experience supporting multiple jobsites and remote projects

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $100000.00/yr.
