The Vice President, S&OP & Integrated Business Planning (IBP) is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and leading a fully integrated planning function that connects demand, product, supply, and financial plans across Ashley Furniture.
This role will establish and lead a best-in-class S&OP/IBP framework, ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and Finance. The VP is accountable for driving disciplined, data-driven decision-making, improving forecast accuracy, enabling successful product lifecycle transitions, and aligning execution to enterprise financial goals.
As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will lead global, cross-functional teams and implement scalable processes, governance, and tools to enable proactive planning and support growth in a complex, multi-billion-dollar environment.
Key Responsibilities
S&OP & IBP Leadership (35%)
- Design, implement, and own the end-to-end S&OP and IBP framework, including governance, cadence, and executive alignment
- Lead the monthly S&OP cycle (Demand, Supply, Product, and Executive reviews)
- Integrate demand, supply, and financial plans into a single, aligned operating plan
- Partner with Finance to align plans to revenue, margin, and working capital targets
- Drive scenario planning to evaluate risks, opportunities, and trade-offs
- Provide forward-looking insights to support strategic and operational decision-making
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (25%)
- Lead planning processes for new product introductions (NPI), product transitions, and end-of-life management
- Partner with Product Development and Merchandising to align lifecycle strategies with business objectives
- Ensure effective ramp-up and ramp-down planning to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
- Integrate lifecycle milestones into demand, supply, and financial plans
- Standardize product segmentation, portfolio optimization, and SKU rationalization processes
Demand Planning & Forecasting (20%)
- Oversee enterprise demand planning across all channels and product categories
- Improve forecast accuracy through structured collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams
- Ensure forecasts reflect promotions, seasonality, and market trends
- Implement and optimize advanced planning tools (SAP IBP or similar)
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting processes, data quality, and analytics
Cross-Functional Alignment & Integration (10%)
- Serve as the central point of alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance
- Facilitate decision-making by providing clear insights and recommendations
- Ensure planning outputs are actionable and aligned with execution capabilities
- Partner with IT to improve systems, data visibility, and planning tools
Leadership & Team Development (10%)
- Build and lead a high-performing team across S&OP, demand planning, and product lifecycle planning
- Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Lead change management initiatives to embed IBP processes across the organization
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field
- Master's degree preferred (MBA or related discipline)
Experience
- 1215 years of progressive leadership experience in S&OP, IBP, demand planning, or related functions
- 5+ years leading cross-functional and/or global teams
- Proven experience building and scaling S&OP or IBP processes
- Strong background in product lifecycle planning (NPI, transitions, portfolio management)
- Experience with planning systems (SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to align commercial, operational, and financial plans
- Background in manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods environments
- Track record of improving forecast accuracy, planning effectiveness, and business alignment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in furniture, home goods, or related industries
- APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent
- Experience leading IBP or planning transformation initiatives
- Exposure to advanced analytics, AI, or machine learning in forecasting
- International experience, particularly supporting Asia-based manufacturing operations
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills

Travel Requirements
30-40% domestic and international travel required, including regular visits to planning teams, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers across the United States and Asia.
Work Environment:
This position is located in a climate-controlled office environment with standard lighting and moderate noise levels typical of professional workspace settings. The role primarily involves sitting at a desk for extended periods while working with computers, phones, and other office equipment. The collaborative environment includes interaction with team members and may require attendance at meetings, conference calls, and cross-departmental communications during regular business hours.
