Job Description Summary- Operate the screed of the paving machine used in the process of laying asphalt
- Work in a team environment
- Perform daily inspections of equipment
- Be able to perform numerous asphalt paving task as needed: shovel, lute, screed, driver, broom
- Be responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and other team members
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment
- Perform general labor duties when necessary
- Follow directions of the Foreman
- Properly follow all company policies
- When working with co-workers, constant eye contact will be maintained when backing, communicating using hand signals
Qualifications- To perform this job, an individual must be competent, fast learning, and have a good attitude
Education/Experience- Minimum or high school diploma or general education degree requires
- Previous asphalt paving experience is preferred
Work Requirements- Must be 18 years or older
- Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures in the employee handbook
- Must be willing to work in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Overtime hours maybe required
- Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Be on time
- Operate Screed/Screw
- Be willing to train others
