Test Technician – Airbag Deployment Laboratory Plymouth, MI $25.00 - $35.00 per Hour 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM 40-50 Hours per Week Join Our Team Our client seeking a Test Technician to support automotive safety and airbag deployment testing in a laboratory environment. This hands-on role is responsible for setting up, executing, and documenting tests on automotive seating systems and components while ensuring compliance with testing procedures, customer requirements, and safety standards. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with advanced testing equipment and contributing to vehicle safety and product development. What You'll Do Set up and conduct airbag deployment and safety validation tests. Assemble and disassemble automotive seating components for testing. Operate laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. Collect, document, and communicate test results accurately. Assist with test preparation, execution, and post-test analysis. Troubleshoot test setups and equipment issues. Work safely around airbag deployment systems and pyrotechnic devices. Support engineering teams with product validation and development activities. Follow all laboratory safety procedures and testing standards. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Test Technician in automotive or a related technical field. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Experience assembling and disassembling automotive components. Familiarity with test instrumentation and laboratory equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems. Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more unassisted. Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, or a related technical discipline. Experience with automotive safety testing, restraint systems, airbags, or seatbelt systems. Experience operating high-speed cameras and data acquisition equipment. Experience with crash testing, sled testing, or airbag deployment testing. Understanding of automotive product validation and development processes. Why Apply?
