Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across all phases of the LDRP unit, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum — expected to manage patient care from start to finish
• Circulate C-sections; all RNs on this unit are required to be able to circulate cesarean sections
• Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage high-acuity patients with diagnoses such as preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
• Float to Mother/Baby unit as needed; occasional mid-shift float to other area facilities is possible though rare
• Read and interpret EKG strips for patients in PACU; monitor fetal status using GE Corometric/Fetalink surveillance system
• May be assigned the NRP/Baby Catcher role for an entire shift depending on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of California (or compact equivalent accepted per state law)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
• Ability to circulate C-sections and float to Mother/Baby as required
• Comfortable working in a high-risk OB environment with a full scope of LDRP responsibilities
• Ability to titrate drips and read/interpret EKG strips in PACU setting
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or per diem) by any facility within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity Health network within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Prior experience in a high-volume L&D setting (this unit delivers approximately 140–165 births per month)
• Familiarity with antepartum monitoring and OB triage workflows
• Experience working alongside OB surgical techs and OB hospitalist/anesthesia teams
