3rd Shift Sanitation SupervisorSalary: ConfidentialLocation: Gurnee, IllinoisMinimum Degree:Relocation Assistance: AvailableJob description:To assist in complying with State, Federal and government regulations for the production and storage of food by cleaning and sanitizing production, packaging, storage areas and production equipment in the manufacturing facility.Key responsibility areas:Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies & Safety Procedures.Plan and coordinate daily sanitation activities to ensure cleaning schedules are met.Inform Manager of issues in the department.Manages sanitation process ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected for cleanliness.Wear proper PPE and follow GMPs and other company rules.Maintains active working knowledge of all sanitation and cleaning procedures.Ensures sanitizing chemicals, safety equipment, power equipment and manual tools are being used correctly and safely.Makes sound decisions based on manager’s guidance.Works in an organized manner to meet daily goals.Able to accept and give feedback and modify behaviors accordingly.Self-motivated and continuously looking to improve.Responsible for work done and focused on improving.Clearly communicates to others and actively listens.Builds partnerships for teamwork.Overall sanitation of a USDA food plant.Utilizes all Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).Adheres to and understands Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Maintain commitment to personal development and participate in job specific training.Perform other duties as assigned.Competencies:Analyzes available data to make informed decisions.Able to multi-task and manage competing priorities to meet or exceed expectations.Able to prioritize effectively to meet goals and deadlines.Effectively copes with change and able to give and receive feedback.Drives continuous improvement and able to motivate others.Committed to organizational success and takes ownership for results.Effective oral and written communications across functions.Able to develop interpersonal relationships to achieve goals.Dimensions:Primary shift responsibility for this position is 3rd shift 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.Sanitation Technician II may be responsible for sanitation activities in multiple buildings.Qualifications:Skills and knowledge:B.S in science field or Certified Sanitarian is preferred.Minimum of 5 years experience in sanitation in a food manufacturing plant and supervisory experience is required.Knowledge in HACCP, Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety, Pest Control, and GFSI standards.Understands and complies with government regulations relating to OSHA, FDA, USDA, and EPA.Communication and coaching skills.Assertive professional manner.Self-Motivation.Leadership skills.Excellent analytical and root cause analysis skills.Able to develop work instructions and documentation.Training skills.Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.Flexibility in work schedule, able to work periodically on a shift rotation.Why is this a great opportunity:This Premier Food Manufacturer recently was added to a massive player's portfolio within the big brand food industry with tremendous upside in terms of growth.High visibility with the senior corporate structure and lots of room to be a key player in the ongoing growth of the firm.Excellent benefit package.Nigel
