Summary:
The Kickapoo Tribal Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Psychiatrist to join our team. This position is scheduled for a maximum of forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The clinic is closed on all Federal holidays, and there are no on-call duties required. The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health services to Kickapoo tribal members and other Native American individuals residing in our community. This includes the provision of care across the lifespan, addressing the mental health needs of adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics in an outpatient setting. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Psychiatrist will provide supervision and clinical oversight to advanced practice providers within the behavioral health team. Performance of these duties supports the mission of the Kickapoo Tribal Health Center to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound, efficient, and culturally respectful manner. The Kickapoo Tribal Health Center is only 30 minutes east of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and is only 20 minutes northwest from Shawnee, Oklahoma. Duties:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:•Provide direct, culturally-appropriate clinical services including evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, counseling, consultation and treatment.•Demonstrate ethical conduct with patients and coordinating all services with the goals, policies and procedures of the KTHC.•Meets with patients to obtain information pertinent to providing outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse counseling services.•Designs a program of treatment tailored to the patient's individual situation based on knowledge of mental health, alcohol and drug dependency, counseling and treatment modalities.•Utilizes a combination of individual and group counseling sessions to help the patients and observe their attitudes and readiness for accepting guidance.•Meets with family members to educate them on the most useful role that they can play in the patient's treatment process.•Educates the patients about community-based organizations and support services. •Maintains a physical and/or electronic record of encounters in a manner compatible with KTHC policies and procedures.•Modifies the patient's treatment program as appropriate on the basis of observation.•Develops and implements group programs/activities that address at-risk behaviors in Native American children, adolescents, and adults.•Provide case consultation to KTHC clinical staff.•Provide behavioral health training to KTHC clinical staff.•Provide emergent and urgent patient consultation during the provider's scheduled time.•Schedule patients for services, including initial appointments, regular visits, cancellations, no-shows, and follow ups, and inform the provider in a timely manner.•Coordinate prescriptions with the local pharmacy (where applicable).•Support onsite telehealth technology and connectivity as needed.•Provide space for the delivery of services under the agreement.•Provide information to patients on behavioral health services and obtain informed consent from patients receiving behavioral heath services. Qualifications:
Board Certified Psychiatrist Credentialed-Privileged by State of Oklahoma as Medicaid Provider.At least three years of experience in substance abuse and mental health counseling.Previous experience working with Tribes, Tribal Organizations or underserved and culturally unique populations, preferredMust have excellent communication skills both verbally and writtenA broad-based quality range of knowledge acquired through professional experience in the field of counseling.Proven skill and ability in the areas of treatment, prevention assessment, diagnostics and consultation.•Must have excellent leadership skills•Must be amenable to a constantly shifting work environment and work schedules with high stress levels related to the implementation and delivery of services •Must maintain all Continuing Education Units as may be required for licensure and/or certification in specialty field of study. •Must possess and maintain a current, valid, active and unrestricted Oklahoma State driver's license throughout the course of employment.•Ability to be courteous, tactful and cooperative throughout the work day. •Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to all phases of the job duties. •Ability to use standard office equipment, such as the computer, printers, copies, and shredding machines. •Ability to learn new software systems for application in the management in the health care system. •Have working knowledge of local reservation, its resources, needs and people•Have understanding of Native American population culture, belief system, living experiences•Master Level preparation •Oklahoma State Licensed Addiction Counselor or related field of study. Independent Practice •Working knowledge of (IHS) RPMS•Understanding of Indian Health Service 638 Contracts / Compact. (Compliance, Functions and other requirements)•Bi-lingual English and Traditional Language(KICKAPOO) Work Type:
