Restoration Project Manager & Estimator

Location: North Austin / Round Rock, TX
Full-Time, W-2 | Hybrid
Base Salary: $55,000–$75,000
Expected OTE: $90,000–$120,000+

About the Role

We are a growing restoration company providing water, fire, mold, and odor mitigation and reconstruction services.

We are seeking an experienced Restoration Project Manager & Estimator to manage projects across both mitigation and reconstruction. This hands-on role combines Xactimate estimating, insurance negotiations, crew and subcontractor management, project management, and profitability responsibility .

This is not a desk-only estimating position. We need someone who can take ownership of projects from initial scope and estimating through successful completion.

Responsibilities

• Inspect losses and develop accurate mitigation and reconstruction scopes.
• Prepare Xactimate estimates, mitigation invoices, supplements, rebuttals, and supporting documentation.
• Review carrier estimates and work directly with adjusters to resolve legitimate scope and pricing differences.
• Prepare proposals and help close complex mitigation projects.
• Manage water mitigation crews , including scheduling, productivity, documentation, quality, and scope execution.
• Manage reconstruction crews, subcontractors, and specialty trades through project completion.
• Develop subcontractor scopes, obtain and negotiate bids, and manage project budgets.
• Coordinate customers, crews, subcontractors, vendors, materials, schedules, and insurance representatives.
• Manage change orders, project documentation, customer communication, and project closeout.
• Monitor revenue, job costs, gross profit, gross margin and cycle time.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, customer-service, and profitability expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in restoration estimating, project management, insurance restoration, or a closely related field.
• Strong Xactimate proficiency.
• Experience with mitigation invoicing and reconstruction estimating.
• Experience working directly with insurance adjusters, including supplements and scope/pricing disputes.
• Experience managing mitigation crews, reconstruction crews, and subcontractors.
• Understanding of project budgets, job costing, gross profit, and gross margin.
• Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple active projects and priorities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to visit projects throughout the North Austin/Round Rock area.

Preferred: IICRC WRT and/or Xactimate certifications; experience with water, mold, fire, and odor losses; Encircle/Matterport experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary of $55,000–$75,000 plus performance-based variable compensation, with expected total compensation (OTE) of $90,000–$120,000+.

Variable compensation rewards production and profitable project execution, with performance measured through KPIs including revenue, gross margin, estimating/insurance performance, project cycle time, cost management, collections, quality, and customer satisfaction .
