Job Title

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM) | 40 Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and circulator roles during EP and cardiac cath lab procedures, maintaining sterile field and technique throughout
• Provide conscious sedation and accurate patient monitoring during procedures including ablations, ICD/pacemaker placements, lead extractions, and left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO)
• Interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias, responding appropriately during procedures
• Set up and operate specialized equipment including PFA, Cryo, ESI, IVUS, and Cardio Lab systems; perform EKG lead placement and prep access sites
• Participate in late team assignments to complete end-of-day cases and ensure patients are transitioned to the appropriate level of care
• Stock supplies, document using designated unit systems, and communicate using SBAR methodology; may be required to serve on Storm or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in EP lab skills including cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, conduction studies, arrhythmia induction, pacemaker insertion/programming, and insertion/programming of AICDs
• Comfort and competency providing conscious sedation during procedures
• Familiarity with documentation systems including EPIC (CUPID), Cardio Lab, and Pyxis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with laser lead extraction and Watchman/LAAO closure procedures
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
• Familiarity with specialized EP equipment such as PFA and Cryo systems
