CNC Machinist

Now hiring for a CNC Machinist in Youngsville, LA. Pay rate: $18.00 – $38.00 per hour (depending on experience). Schedule: 40+ hours a week. This opportunity lets you program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to manufacture high-quality components while supporting efficient production and exceptional quality.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical training in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a completed machinist program is a plus
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications

Experience Requirements:

• Must know G-code
• 2+ years of CNC lathe or CNC mill setup and operation experience preferred
• Recent graduates of a machinist training program will be considered
• Experience performing in-process inspections and using precision measuring instruments
• Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make machine adjustments as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Basic math skills, including shop calculations and measurement conversions
• Knowledge of machining tolerances, feeds, speeds, and cutting tools
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with production teams
• Familiarity with preventive machine maintenance and safe manufacturing practices

Physical Capabilities:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
• Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and machine controls
• Close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision required for inspection and machining tasks
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery and occasional humidity

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precision parts
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, attachments, and materials for production runs
• Calculate and adjust machine settings, including speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and cutting depths
• Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards
• Perform dimensional inspections and verify finished products meet customer and engineering specifications
• Collaborate with supervisors and production personnel to resolve machining and assembly challenges
• Complete daily equipment maintenance, report repair needs, and maintain a clean, organized work area
