Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

At Apria, you’ll experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This role provides a balance between time in the branch and time in the field, allowing you to develop strong patient-facing clinical skills while maintaining workflow independence.

Key Highlights

• Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible)

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 70% in the office, 30% on the road

• Driving Distance: Up to 1.5 hours one way (typically 30–40 minutes)

• On-Call: Every 2 weeks, rotating with the other RT; may assist with Driver duties if willing.

Salary Range

• $35 - $40/hr per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

• Rotation frequency: Every 2 weeks per month.

• May assist with Driver duties if willing.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups

• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance

• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately

• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs

• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams

• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation

• Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition

• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs

• Performs other duties as required

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active OH RT license

• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.

• Valid driver's license

• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations

• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy

• Hold a current CPR Certification

• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
