Chief Financial Officer

We are currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer for our HQ in Belgium.

Your key responsibilities and tasks

Your role spans from the details of the balance sheet to high-level strategy:

• Strategic financial reporting & insights
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting packages to the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive business performance
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor the company’s current financial status in real-time
• Transaction readiness & corporate strategy
  • Lead the preparation for future strategic events
  • Structure and manage the financial data, ensuring the company’s financials are always presentable
  • Act as a key negotiator and advisor during investment rounds or transaction discussions
• Public funding & grant management
  • Proactively identify relevant local and international grants
  • Lead the structuring of grant applications to maximize success rates
  • Efficiently organize the accountability and auditing processes for public funds to ensure 100% compliance
• Core financial leadership
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Optimize the company’s capital structure and manage banking/investor relationships
  • Ensure rigorous internal controls and compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements

Our wishlist

We are looking for an experienced financial profile who brings the following to the table:

• You hold a master’s degree in financial management or equivalent degree with 10 years in a relevant position
• You have a proven track record as a CFO or VP of Finance, ideally within a high-growth scale-up environment
• You have been through a transaction before; a successful sale, or a significant funding round
• You have experience with public funding
• Timing is as critical as accuracy to you; you recognize that delayed insights are missed opportunities. You value accuracy but move with the speed of the business
• You can explain a complex P&L to a creative team and a complex technical roadmap to a potential investor
• You are calm under pressure and a trusted partner when it comes to financial ethics
