Dental Hygienist

Work together with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of the patient. Provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. Handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations. These duties range in complexity and skill, and all aspects of the job require a strong commitment to customer service. Work well with patients, doctors, dental assistants, and other dental office team members. GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy equipment operation may be required. Provide oral hygiene dental treatment and educational care in accordance with state guidelines. Apply fluoride and protective sealants. Remove calculus, stain, and plaque from above and below the gum line. Provide nutritional counseling and self-care programs to prevent disease. Record and review patient medical histories. Uphold office policies including regulatory standards. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Order and keep track of inventory as required. Perform other duties as assigned. This job operates in a medical/clinical environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, x-rays, and phones. The work environment is well-lighted and sterile. Employees must wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear, and clothing to protect themselves and patients from infectious disease. The employee frequently requires talking and hearing, standing and/or sitting for long periods, walking, and using hands to handle or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and blood-borne pathogens and/or physical risks. OSHA training will be required.
