Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 50 % (20 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC West Branch Family Medicine Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Percent of Time: 50 % (20 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday, Thursday, and Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Thursday hours end at 12:00 pm. No on call time, weekends, or holidays required.

Location: West Branch, IA (and surrounding clinics based on clinical need/hours)

Salary: $$45,455.76- $67,713.84(at 100% time) ( based on years of experience )

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification/License:

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Highly Desired Requirements:

• Previous EPIC experience
• Previous Family Medicine Clinic experience
• Strong phlebotomy skills

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role
• Previous phlebotomy experience
• Previous immunization experience
• Previous experience with lab audits
• Previous experience handling and processing lab specimens

Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
