Senior Internal Communications Specialist

We are currently seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to help develop thoughtful, engaging communications that keep our people informed, connected, and aligned with the firm’s culture, strategic priorities, and business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership, the Communications Manager, and colleagues across teams and offices to support important firmwide initiatives, leadership messages, organizational updates, employee programs, and other communications needs.

The position requires excellent writing and editing skills, sound judgment, organizational savvy, excellent project management capabilities, and the ability to independently manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced professional services environment. The successful candidate must be able to effectively collaborate with senior leaders, navigate complex stakeholder relationships and sensitive issues, manage confidential information with discretion, and identify opportunities to improve processes, channels, content, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, edit and distribute clear, engaging internal communications for firmwide and targeted audiences across a variety of platforms.
• Develop executive and leadership communications, including announcements, talking points, presentations and other materials.
• Serve as a trusted communications partner to firm leaders and administrative stakeholders, providing communications counsel and helping plan and execute complex, sensitive or high-profile internal communications.
• Partner with firm leaders, administrative stakeholders and the Marketing and Business Development team to develop communications plans, messaging and supporting materials for firm initiatives.
• Translate complex information, organizational changes and business priorities into accessible communications that help employees understand key messages, actions and impacts.
• Use visual storytelling, formatting and other communications techniques to simplify complex information and improve employee understanding and engagement.
• Coordinate communications across departments, practices, offices and administrative teams to ensure messaging is consistent, timely and aligned with firm priorities.
• Create content that increases awareness and understanding of firm initiatives, resources, programs, accomplishments and business priorities.
• Support communications related to organizational change, technology implementations, process improvements and other firmwide initiatives.
• Use internal communications channels, including the firm intranet, email marketing tools and other platforms, to distribute content effectively.
• Maintain and improve internal communications calendars, processes, templates and workflows to support consistency and efficiency.
• Track available communications metrics and use insights to recommend improvements to content, timing, channels and communications practices.
• Maintain adherence to marketing, communications and editorial style guidelines.
• Handle sensitive firm, personnel, leadership, client and business information with discretion and sound judgment.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a communications, marketing or related role.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and content development skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with firm leadership, stakeholders and colleagues across departments and offices.
• High level of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and collaborative, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality and client service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SharePoint, Vuture, InterAction or similar platforms preferred.
• Experience using communications metrics or analytics to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements preferred.

The pay range for this role accounts for the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. For applicants physically based in California, New Jersey or Washington DC, a reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $94,000 - $110,000. For applicants physically based in Colorado, a reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $89,000 - $105,000. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, relevant experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable employment laws.
