Job Summary:

Paint Prep Techs are employees that cover labor of any sort outside the paint booth. They handle materials from 2lbs to 1000+lbs. You will be trained on proper lifting techniques and hoist usage to hang/rig materials. Additionally, Techs keep the area free of debris and may have to assist in other departments as well.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operates fork lift and hoist to organize and distribute production material
• Fills each work cell demand for material
• Washes, preps, sands and rigs parts on paint line
• Understands and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
• Help with other duty's within the paint department

Qualifications:

• Previous experience on a sit-down, counter balance truck desired. Will complete fork lift training upon hire
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills
• Willingness to learn safe operation of all lifting devices
• Ability to follow instruction on the proper preparation of material prior to and after painting
• Ability to work independently with little supervision

Shift and Hours: 2nd 2:30 PM - 11PM

Starting Pay: $16.00/ hour (+ $1/hr differential for 2nd shift)
