Responsibilities Partial Hospitalization Internship (PHP) – an unpaid clinical internship beginning Fall 2026. On‑site. About the Role Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Clinic offers Clinical Internship opportunities. The mission of the Clinical Internship program at Arbour is to provide high quality training and supervision to students with regard to the role and responsibilities of a counselor/therapist while functioning in a multi‑leveled, multi‑faceted and multidisciplinary Behavioral Healthcare System. We aim to provide student interns with clinical experience in a clinical setting with quality care and documentation. Interns will eventually move on to positions within and outside Arbour. Key Experiences You’ll Gain Experience with Groups, Intakes, Case Management, and Crisis Management. Ability to lead a group, conduct an intake, manage a case and handle a variety of crisis situations. Regular in‑services on topics such as legal issues, systems, ethics, resume writing, job search, etc. Weekly supervision with an independently licensed behavioral health provider (LICSW or LMHC) and availability of on‑spot supervision from other clinicians. Professional development to support work/life/school balance during your placement and beyond. Clinical Skills You’ll Obtain Conducting clinical assessments and diagnosing a variety of mental health and substance use disorders. Individualized treatment planning. Group therapy: Psychotherapy, Expressive Therapy, Psychoeducation, Stress‑Management, Anger Management, DBT, Relationship Issues, Self‑Esteem, and more. Individual therapy interventions. Case management and aftercare planning/referrals. Administration of programmatic daily operations for a higher level of care. Collaboration with professionals in various capacities. Multidisciplinary clinical treatment team participation. Insurance authorizations, level‑of‑care assessments, medical necessity justification. Crisis management, risk assessments, safety planning. Presenting cases with diagnostic conversations and education. Benefits Challenging and rewarding work environment. Frequent review and feedback of goals and objectives identified by the student on their Internship Contract. Consistent review and feedback of record‑keeping skills documented on supervision forms. Completion of all evaluation forms provided by Arbour and the academic program. Qualifications Second‑year Master’s students or second internship level (or equivalent). Available 24 hours per week – three days a week 8:30am‑5pm. Dates determined by the Director to assure best clinical experience. Required participation in staff meetings dependent on location. Orientation session – date TBA. Agency‑wide intern workshops required. PHP only closes for major holiday days (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Interns are not guaranteed days off before/after holidays. Interns may take up to four weeks’ vacation during the year; dates must be approved by the Director. Possession of appropriate citizenship work documentation. Pass a CORI and drug test, plus other pre‑employment documentation.
