Occupational Therapist PRN

Job Summary Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Guided by our mission to care for and improve human life, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each patient’s unique goals and capabilities. You’ll work closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to evaluate needs, develop individualized care plans, and provide hands‑on treatment that supports recovery through every stage of healing. Responsibilities Treat patients with disabilities, injuries, or disease using therapeutic techniques prescribed by physicians; perform assessments and evaluation procedures. Record and document patient observations, treatments, and changes in condition; monitor, analyze, and review clinical data; reevaluate and modify treatment plans based on performance. Communicate care clearly and provide explanations to patients and families; ensure families are informed of status. Develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team. Deliver skilled, evidence‑based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life. Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and ensure thorough, timely documentation. Educate patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery. Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care and safe environments. Lead by example—provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission and values. No Travel Required. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred. Current Florida Occupational Therapist license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA. Current Functional Independence Measure (FIM) obtained within 90 days of hire. Prior experience in an appropriate healthcare setting (preferred). Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; PC skills.
