HR GENERALIST

Description Summary: Purpose of this position is to perform professional and analytical work in a variety of human resources program areas which may include one or more of the following: Payroll functions, Account Payables, benefits administration, recruitment, selection, classification, and labor & employee relations. Provides responsible staff assistance in the administration of a comprehensive human resources management program; and provides professional, effective and efficient service and assistance. Communicates area of assignment to employees including, health, dental, life, and disability insurance; light duty assignment and return to work programs; FMLA and retiree insurance; and family medical leave, labor and employee relations Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Full cycle payroll Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures. Onboarding to include orientation and enrollments. Assist in the implementation and upkeep in the annually performance reviews, compensation program, & job descriptions updates Performs benefits administration to include open enrollment and customer service questions Assist in the recruitment effort Ensures compliance on posted materials, 401k, etc. Update employee records by recording changes including insurance coverage, loan payments, salary increases, terminations, transfers and promotions. Responsible for upkeep of comprehensive employee and payroll records Collect, compile and enter payroll data using appropriate software. Review and verify source documents, calculate and post payroll deductions, and process payroll by established deadlines. Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors. Maintain accurate up to date employee records. Support and deliver HR driven projects or continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate with HR Manager to plan and implement employee relations functions and continuous improvement efforts. Provides information to employees and others that require the use of judgment and the interpretation of policies, laws, rules and procedures. Maintaining confidentiality concerning personnel actions, legal actions, termination and organizational plans. Processes employee transactions, including new hires, merit and salary increases, promotions, transfers and separations. Support and participate in the plant’s safety process. Provide information, assistance, and guidelines needed to comply with company policies, procedures, federal and state employment laws, and E.E.O.C regulations. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned Requirements Knowledge/Skills: Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees. Strong organizational and analytical skills, must be methodical and have the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of federal and state employment laws & regulations. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required Must be proficient in Microsoft office products Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of human resources administration; benefits administration; Federal and State employment and payroll laws. Education and Experience: Full cycle Payroll Prior experience with NetSuite & Paylocity system strongly preferred A bachelor's degree preferred Physical Demands: Required to lift up to 25 lbs. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility.
