Specialist, Embedded Software Engineering

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 4 years of prior engineering experience, or an associate degree with 5 years of prior engineering experience, or a graduate degree with 2 years of prior related experience, or 8 years of related engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• We require a minimum of 5 years of experience in computer/software engineering.
• We require at least 5 years of professional C++ development experience.
• We require an active U.S. Secret Clearance.
• Preferred qualifications include experience developing and testing real-time embedded software.
• Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Green Hills RTOS.
• Preferred qualifications include experience building device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with modern C++ techniques.
• Preferred qualifications include experience working with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes.
• Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of Linux.

• We support and help lead the development and execution of software on targeted embedded hardware.
• We design software based on requirements documents and system-level design documents.
• We work closely with test engineers to help shape test automation.
• We apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis principles to embedded software development.
• We implement software in C++ for embedded real-time operating systems.
• We collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define interfaces between hardware, firmware, software, and system performance requirements.
• We investigate root causes of complex issues and implement fixes independently or with a multi-discipline team.
• We participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing.
• We develop software test plans, procedures, and related technical documentation.
• We use modeling tools and equipment to collect operating data, run experiments, prototype solutions, and evaluate results.
• We take part in peer reviews and identify, track, and resolve defects.
