Job Title: ICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years ICU experience required; 2 years ICU experience preferred License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Strong background in medical patients and critical care. Ability to be flexible, critically think and reason. Team-oriented and personable. Description: This position involves caring for critically ill patients in a mixed acuity unit. The main patient population includes those recovering from conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia. You will be required to care for ventilated patients and administer IV drips, including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics. Assisting with intubations and line placements is also part of the role. Nurse to patient ratio may be 1:2 or 1:3 for ICU patients, and 1:3 or 1:4 for progressive care patients. The position may involve floating to other units as needed. You will utilize equipment including Phillips heart monitors, Epic EMR, Pyxis, EKG machines, and dopplers. Care will be provided during three 12-hour shifts per week, including a traditional weekday and weekend rotation. The dress code consists of Caribbean blue scrubs, with jackets permitted in black, white, or Caribbean blue. Onboarding includes training to review applicable policies and obtain necessary system access. Cancellation policy allows for client-initiated cancellations with notice.
