About the Company Nortek Data Center Cooling is a Madison Industries company that designs and builds systems to keep modern data centers running, including liquid cooling and large‑scale air solutions. Position Summary As a Service Technician – Data Center Service, you will handle warranty‑related service issues for our data center product line, providing guidance and technical expertise to end users and outside sales representatives. The position can be based at any U.S. location. Responsibilities Commission, repair, and service mechanical and electrical equipment associated with new Data Center Cooling projects. Review work orders, blueprints, schematic diagrams and related materials to determine tasks, tools, equipment and parts needed for installation or repair. Manage challenging jobs to mitigate impact on customers’ building/experience while minimizing financial burden on the company. Coordinate with building owners, general and mechanical contractors, engineers and local servicing contractors. Consult with engineering and manufacturing personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance. Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance and suggestions for product improvements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3 to 5 years of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience; HVAC servicing or similar electromechanical experience preferred. Ability to travel approximately 85% of the time to various job sites for commissioning and warranty work. Superior analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals. Root‑cause analysis experience and ability to stay on project to resolve issues. Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed expectations. Ability to work independently, completing jobs correctly with outside technicians and following up on parts delivery. Preferred: Trade/technical school or certification, product experience with industrial HVAC equipment, building automation experience. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; intermediate experience with commercial projects.
