Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ED experience, TNCC certification, and charge nurse capability.

Details

• Work in a Level III trauma center Emergency Department with 48 beds plus flex space
• Utilizes team nursing and pod system with a social worker and unit educator assigned to the department
• Patient ratios of 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
• Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric cases
• Uses Zoll defibrillator, Level One blood transfuser, QinFlow blood warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat point-of-care testing, and ultrasound guided IV equipment
• Charts in Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Minimum of two weekends required per schedule
• No call requirements
• No floating requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, and TNCC (must be from AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with ED experience preferred
• ADN required for RN education
• Charge nurse experience required
• Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required
• Experience treating ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma and medical cases in a Level III trauma center
• Facility receives various Trauma Level I, II, and III cases via air transport due to its regional location
• Work alongside a dedicated social worker and unit educator within the department
