Travel Surgical Technician (ST)

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Surgical Technician (ST) to join the surgical team at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for an 8-week travel contract. Operating in a high-volume, metropolitan Level 1 Trauma Facility, you will support complex, fast-paced surgical cases across diverse patient populations.

In this role, you will play a critical part in preparing operating suites, maintaining strict sterile fields, and anticipating surgeon needs during elective, urgent, and emergent procedures.

Prepare and organize operating rooms and set up sterile fields with appropriate instruments and supplies.

Assist surgical teams during complex procedures by anticipating surgeon requirements, passing instruments, and handling specimens correctly.

Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) alongside the perioperative nursing team to ensure patient safety.

Maintain strict aseptic technique and assist with pre- and post-operative patient care in a fast-turnover environment.

Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Surgical Tech experience within a metropolitan, high-volume Level 1 Trauma Center.

Active Surgical Technician Certification (ST/CST).

AHA BLS

Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or CPI training

LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City specific)

Must complete LA County Employee Health Clearance and Live Scan fingerprinting prior to assignment start date.

Estimated Weekly Pre-Tax Pay: $1,386.08 $1,630.68 per week (based on a 36-hour workweek)

Hourly Base Rate: $25.00 / hour
