Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Onsite | Shifts: 0630–1900 and 1830–0700 | Every third weekend required (up to every other based on unit need) | 1 major and 1 minor holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to high-risk and routine obstetric patients in a Labor and Delivery setting, following AWHONN staffing guidelines (1:1–2 labors, 1:2–3 antepartum)
• Circulate in the OR for cesarean section procedures
• Titrate drips including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain medications per physician orders
• Perform normal newborn assessments and provide routine newborn care
• Triage obstetric patients greater than 20 weeks gestation presenting with pregnancy-related complaints
• Float to Postpartum as needed, providing care for both mother and infant; occasional float to house as a sitter

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections
• Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine infant care
• Natural nails required — artificial nails are strictly prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with high-risk obstetric patient populations
• Familiarity with Obix electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) system
• Prior experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit (up to 400 births per month)
