Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Job Summary: We are seeking a versatile Veterinary Receptionist and Vet Assistant to join our animal care team. This role involves splitting time between front-desk duties and clinical support, providing excellent customer service while assisting veterinarians with medical procedures. The ideal candidate will manage appointment scheduling, answer client inquiries, and ensure smooth clinic operations, as well as support veterinary staff during examinations, treatments, and animal care activities. This position offers an opportunity to work in a compassionate environment dedicated to animal health and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets warmly, establishing a welcoming environment for all visitors
• Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and coordinate follow-up visits using veterinary software
• Handle medical collections accurately, including processing payments and insurance claims
• Answer phone calls, respond to client inquiries, and provide information about pet care services
• Assist with getting medications ready during examinations or procedures.
• Perform general clerical duties such as data entry.
• Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred; familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential
• Knowledge of medical collection processes and veterinary administrative support functions
• Proficiency in veterinary software systems for scheduling and record keeping
