Refurbishing Coordinator (CSLP FWS)

Position Summary Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs. The CSLP student worker will support AZ StRUT located at 3025 S 48th St., Tempe, AZ 85282. The worker will refurbish donated computers for distribution to community members in need. The work schedule depends on AZ StRUT hours and is limited to 20 hours per week during the academic year. Work Schedule & Legal Information The position is a FWS-CSLP approved role as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Services are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, especially low‑income individuals, and must be open and accessible to the community. All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete a FAFSA to be reviewed for FWS‑eligibility and awarded FWS. Primary Responsibilities Refurbish donated computers for distribution to community members in need. Learn and work with Linux operating systems and Google Chrome environments. Sort incoming electronic donations into categories: reuse, refurbish, or recycle. Accurately log and track incoming electronics using a CRM system. Support and guide fellow volunteers by providing training and coordination during refurbishment activities. Your tasks may change based on current priorities and organizational needs. Equipment & Tools Microsoft Office Suite Linux Google Chrome Qualifications Demonstrate good communication skills. Able to work with minimal supervision. Possess strong ethics, integrity, and a sense of responsibility. Must have reliable transportation. Grand Canyon University is committed to a student‑first policy.
