Locums Hospitalist Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage at a respected community hospital in Niceville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who enjoys caring for an adult inpatient population in a collaborative, low- to moderate-acuity setting with a predictable daytime schedule and no call responsibilities.

Position Highlights

Assignment: August and September

Schedule: Blocks of 3–5 consecutive days available

Typical schedule follows a week-on/week-off model

Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

No call required

Practice Details

Hospital Size: 45 beds

Average Daily Census: 25–35 patients

Average Daily Admissions: Approximately 10

Consults: Approximately 2 per day

Patient Population: Primarily elderly adults

Trauma Level: No trauma services

Patient Acuity: Low to medium

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient medical management for hospitalized adult patients.

Perform admissions, daily rounding, evaluations, and treatment planning.

Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and case management.

Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions of care.

Document all patient encounters accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications

Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Active Florida license (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Hospital Medicine or inpatient experience preferred

Current BLS and ACLS certifications
