Service Mechanic – Field Service (Bucket Trucks)

Full-Time • Monday–Friday Travel • Field + Shop Work - paying up to $55/hr - DIRECT HIRE

The Service Mechanic – Field Service position is a travel-based role responsible for repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting bucket trucks and aerial lift equipment. You’ll work independently across surrounding states Monday–Friday, performing on-site diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical repairs, and equipment installations. When not traveling, you’ll support shop operations to keep equipment safe, reliable, and ready for service.

• Field Repairs — Perform hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repairs on bucket trucks at customer sites.
• Diagnostics — Troubleshoot diesel chassis, electrical systems, hydraulic components, and aerial lift equipment.
• On-Site Fixes — Complete wiring repairs, component replacements, system adjustments, and emergency fixes.
• Installations — Install and configure hydraulic and electrical components on bucket trucks and aerial lifts.
• Preventative Maintenance — Perform inspections to identify issues before failures occur.
• Documentation — Record repairs, parts used, and service details accurately.
• Independent Travel — Manage your own schedule while traveling Monday–Friday across nearby states.
• Safety Compliance — Work safely around welding operations, fumes, oils, and automotive fluids using proper PPE.

• Mechanic Experience — 1+ year of recent mechanic experience; heavy equipment or truck experience preferred.
• Diesel Knowledge — Experience with diesel engines and chassis repairs.
• Electrical Skills — Strong wiring, troubleshooting, and repair abilities.
• Hydraulic Skills — Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems on trucks or aerial equipment.
• Field Troubleshooting — Ability to diagnose and repair issues independently in the field.
• Tools — Must own a complete mechanic tool set suitable for field and shop work.
• Travel Readiness — Comfortable traveling Monday–Friday.
• Safety Practices — Ability to work safely around welding, fumes, oils, and automotive fluids.

• Field Service Experience— Mobile equipment or commercial truck service experience.
• Aerial Lift Knowledge — Experience with bucket trucks or aerial lift equipment.
• Shop Safety — Familiarity with safe shop practices and diagnostic tools.
• Technical Aptitude — Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
• Communication — Clear documentation and customer communication skills.
• Training Mindset — Willingness to participate in paid company training.

This role combines extensive field travel with shop and office work . Expect weekly travel Monday–Friday, moderate shop noise, exposure to welding operations and automotive fluids, and required PPE. Office time is used for documentation and coordination.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hopkins, MN.

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

PTO: Upon hire, 3.077 hours of PTO are granted every payroll (80 hours annually). After completion of 1 year, 4.615 hours of PTO will be granted every payroll. After ten years of service, 6.154 hours of PTO are granted every payroll (160 hours annually). Benefits: Benefits package options will be made available for selection before eligibility begins. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of the month after a thirty (30)-day waiting period. - Paid Holidays o Eight (8) paid holidays – includes one (1) floating holiday. - Comprehensive health care coverage o ABM Equipment, LLC, pays approximately 65% of base individual and family premiums. - Dental Plan Option o Individual and family premiums paid by the employee - Paid Life Insurance o $50,000 term coverage - Short-term Disability o 60% of weekly income up to $500/wk. for up to 13 weeks - Funeral leave o Two (2) paid days for an immediate family member - 401k/Profit Sharing plan o Employee voluntary contributions pre or post-tax. Eligible the first of the month after three (3) months of employment o 3% of gross pay distributed bi-weekly (safe harbor). This is a fully onsite position in Hopkins,MN.

This position is anticipated to close on Aug 11, 2026.
