Senior Accountant

Schedule: Hybrid - onsite approximately 2 days per week Type: Contract Duration: Up to 90 days, with potential for extension or permanent placement Experience: 10+ years Green Key Resources is working with a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to provide hands‑on support across the Finance function. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who can step into a fast-paced environment and contribute across accounts payable, payroll, cash management, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting. Responsibilities Process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, weekly payments, and maintain vendor records Reconcile corporate credit cards and assist with related systems and staff inquiries Coordinate biweekly payroll and prepare related journal entries Reconcile cash, investment, and receivable accounts Process banking activity, transfers, and other treasury functions Prepare journal entries and reconcile assigned GL accounts, including intercompany, prepaid, and fixed asset accounts Support month-end close and preparation of accurate financial statements Assist with year-end close, external audits, Form 990 preparation, and supporting documentation Support grant reporting and budgeting activities Assist with special projects, cross-training, and other Finance initiatives Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong experience with Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Month-End Close Experience with payroll, cash management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Experience using Sage Intacct or another ERP/accounting software Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred Experience supporting audits and financial reporting Grant accounting/reporting experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong communication and problem-solving skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
