Substitute Kitchen Staff

Sub Kitchen StaffUSD 473 often needs assistance in the kitchens of our various schools. By applying, you will be placed on our Sub Kitchen Staff list and will receive a call from our Food Service Director, Jennifer Tiller. Sub Kitchen Staff will be called on an "as needed bases."Assist in food preparation, cooking and serving.Wash dishes, pots and pans required for preparation of breakfast and lunchesEssential FunctionsProduction1. Wash dishes, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment by hand or with dishwashing machines.2. Clean and maintain equipment in dishwashing area.3. Monitor chemical usage in dishwashing area4. Remove clean dishes from machine and places them in serving areas.5. Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.6. Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other equipment with proper certification, as required.7. Keep work area neat, clean and organized.8. Restock items as needed.9. Assist in some of the preparation of foods for meal service or preparation of menu items in strict compliance with Opaa! recipes.10. Serve individual portions of food to customers, as required.11. Keep serving lines/condiments supplied with food items, napkins, silverware and dishes.Compliance12. Obey safety rules as outlined in Opaa's "Safety Procedure Manual" and exercise caution in all work activities.16. Report any unsafe working conditions to the appropriate supervisor. Participates in the safety incentive program.17. Attend all required meetings and in-services.18. Noise level is usually loud.Position Qualification RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or GED, preferred; or up to one month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experienceLanguage Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commons fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
