About the Role As our Accounting Manager, you’ll own the full payroll and accounts payable engine for a multi-entity, multi-state real estate enterprise and its affiliated entities. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you’ll run the end-to-end payroll cycle in ADP, manage accounts payable across multiple platforms, support the monthly close with journal entries and account reconciliations, and keep us compliant across every jurisdiction in which we operate. This is a hands-on ownership role for someone who takes pride in clean, accurate, on-time results and is always looking for a smarter way to get there. What You’ll Do Run end-to-end, multi-company, multi-state bi-weekly payroll in ADP - regular cycles, off-cycle and bonus runs, commissions, and final pay - including reconciliation, funding, and timely remittance of taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions. Process payroll for an affiliated entity (TVB), applying the same accuracy and compliance standards as the core enterprise. Manage the full accounts payable cycle across multiple entities in Data Plus and Yardi - invoice intake through disbursement by check, ACH, and wire - and own employee expense reimbursement. Administer payroll-related deductions and contributions (401(k), health, transit, FSA/HSA) and keep employee records accurate as elections and statuses change. Own payroll-tax reconciliation and year-end close - reviewing and reconciling quarterly and annual filings processed through ADP (941s, state and local withholding, W-2s), filing 1099-NEC/1096 via the FIRE system, and responding to agency notices. Maintain internal controls and segregation of duties over payroll and disbursements, and support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation. Support the monthly and year-end close - journal entries, bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, and intercompany accounting - and assist with internal financial reporting. Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase accuracy, control, and efficiency. Partner with Human Resources, property accounting, and corporate finance to deliver clean, well-documented results. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field. 5-7+ years of progressive payroll and accounts payable experience, including hands-on multi-company, multi-state payroll and proven ownership of end-to-end payroll and AP cycles. Demonstrated proficiency with ADP for full-cycle payroll processing. Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax, wage-and-hour, and related compliance requirements (941, W-2, 1099-NEC/1096 via FIRE). Solid understanding of accounts payable, employee expense reimbursement, general-ledger coding, and account reconciliations. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general-ledger accounting - journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Comfort using AI and emerging technology tools (generative AI, data analysis, and automation platforms)to improve accuracy and efficiency. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines independently, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: experience in real estate, hospitality, or a multi-property/multi-entity organization; and comfort using AI and emerging technology tools (generative AI, data analysis, automation platforms) to improve accuracy and efficiency. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range is up to $125,000. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
