Logistics Coordinator

: Description:
This position is key to dividing and organizing all aspects and tasks of participation in Tribal Canoe Journey for the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe. This position is instrumental in structuring the main components of camping set up, break down, transport of equipment and supplies, and coordination of volunteers. This position requires the applicant to be onsite at all landing locations and does require manual labor and lifting. The position is intended to be seasonal, ending each year on or around August 30.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and structure the main components of landing site camping.
- Utilize organizational skills to develop plans to execute & complete coordinator duties.
- Seek the best pricing and negotiate contracts with vendors/suppliers/campsite vendors.
- Organize, load, unload, and when necessary, drive the Tribe's box truck
- Facilitate volunteers, pullers and ground crew to help load as you organize box truck before leaving camp sites.
- Inventory supplies nightly
- Report any inventory needs to the Canoe Family Manager, as needed
- Ability to identify the needs of canoe journey staffing, supplies, vehicle maintenance, etc. in junction with the Canoe Journey Committee and Canoe Family Manager.
- Coordinate needed staff/volunteers for the event including security, maintenance and cleanup crew.
- Serve as one of the main points of contacts on multiple duties during pre and post events.
- Recruit, schedule, and serve as the main point of contract for ground volunteers, as delegated and/or approved by the Canoe Family Manager.
- Problem solve and mediate any issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Canoe Journey Committee & tribal staff to ensure the Canoe Journey runs smoothly.
- Provide timely responses to all requests and inquiries.
- Complete all essential infrastructure priorities.
- Attend all canoe journey meetings and department meetings.
- Coordinate and communicate with tribal staff, and tribal community on canoe journey planning process and activities taking place to prepare for event.
- Make recommendations on equipment, vehicle, and supply needs and utilize the set budget efficiently.
- Follow procurement procedures to purchase items and pay invoices.
- Must be able to provide reports of expenses, participants and activities.
- Moving, loading, unloading, and repositioning camp furniture.
- Lifting, carrying, and placing items like kitchen equipment, camping chairs, pop up canopies, tents, storage tots, ice chests, trash cans, picnic tables to different locations
- Campsite relocation.
- General Maintenance.
- Performing basic maintenance tasks like cleaning and repairing outdoor furniture, clearing debris, picking up litter, maintaining overall cleanliness of the campground, and assisting with minor repairs, make sure proper compost, recycle and trash products are being separated properly.
- Operating power equipment
- Safely operating lawnmowers, trimmers leaf blowers, and other power tools as needed.

- Willingness to work in camp facilities that may not have AC.
- Frequent work under stress and under pressure of deadlines with overlapping projects.
- Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate camp staff attire.
- Continuous work as a team member and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to organize, manage, and achieve such duties in a timely manner.
- Must have effective communication skills both written and oral, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in accomplishing the goals and objectives of event organizing and participation in the canoe journey.
- Daily travel will be required.
Education & Experience:
Education Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- One year experience with the canoe journey, event planning, or similar demonstrated experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid and unrestricted Washington State driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
- Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.
- Must provide proof of vehicle insurance and reliable transportation.
Work Environment:
The work environment is mostly outdoors. Daily travel will be required. Willingness to live and work in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited equipment and facilities, with daily exposure to the pacific northwest weather which may include rain, sun, heat, and insects.

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals.
Additional Information:
- Hourly, compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $27.21 per hour.
- This position is a seasonal full-time position and employment is at will. The duration of the position is from June 1 - August 30.
