Project Scheduler (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Akron, OH

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Scheduler for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Akron, OH. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining integrated project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 for transmission & distribution, substation, and telecommunications projects. The Scheduler will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate scheduling, reporting, and project controls support across multiple active projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 schedules in Oracle Primavera P6
• Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activities, and activity codes
• Develop and manage resource-loaded schedules
• Apply constraints, leads, and lags effectively within schedules
• Generate and maintain reports, layouts, and filters in Primavera P6
• Identify schedule drivers, delays, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Perform quality checks and validation of project controls deliverables
• Analyze schedule logic to identify errors, sequencing issues, and incorrect durations
• Communicate schedule status and technical progress with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders
• Integrate and analyze schedule data using Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros, Power Query, Power BI)
• Manage and maintain multiple schedules across concurrent projects
• Identify schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited program
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant scheduling or project controls experience
• Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros, Power Query; Power BI a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and schedules simultaneously
• Valid driver's license required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
• Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Experience

• Experience in transmission & distribution, substation, or telecommunications projects
• Familiarity with project controls processes and reporting standards
