Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized postoperative recovery care to patients in the PACU, ensuring safe and efficient transitions from surgery to recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and recovery status continuously.
• Administer medications and interventions per physician orders.
• Manage post-op procedures such as craniotomies, spine surgeries, thoracotomies, and vascular cases.
• Document patient conditions and treatments accurately in Meditech system.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and notify physicians of any complications.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and certifications.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in PACU and ICU settings.
• Proven expertise in managing complex post-op cases including ALINE, chest tubes, and central lines.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including 3/12s or 4/9s shifts.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills.
