  • Develop positive, proactive strategies to increase appropriate behaviors and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning or participation.
  • Support students in developing replacement behaviors, coping strategies, self-regulation skills, communication skills, social skills, and problem-solving skills.

  • Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret behavioral data.
  • Develop individualized behavior support plans and behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with the student's educational team.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), IEP-related behavioral supports, and other individualized interventions.
  • Establish appropriate data collection procedures to measure student progress.
  • Regularly review behavioral data and make recommendations for modifying interventions when necessary.
  • Ensure behavioral recommendations are practical, measurable, and appropriate for implementation within the school environment.
School-Based Consultation

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teachers, school administrators, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and other related-service providers.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, student support meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based meetings as requested.
  • Provide recommendations regarding classroom structure, environmental modifications, reinforcement strategies, prompting, transitions, and other behavioral supports.
  • Assist school teams in understanding the relationship between student behavior, academic performance, communication, social-emotional functioning, and environmental factors.
  • Promote consistent implementation of behavioral strategies across staff members and school settings.
  • Serve as a behavioral resource and consultant to school personnel.
Staff Training & Coaching

  • Provide training, modeling, coaching, and feedback to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel regarding behavioral support strategies.
  • Educate staff on evidence-based behavioral interventions and positive behavior support practices.
  • Model appropriate intervention strategies within the classroom and other school settings.
  • Support staff in implementing individualized behavior plans with fidelity.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to improve the effectiveness and consistency of behavioral interventions.
  • Develop or assist with behavioral resources, visual supports, reinforcement systems, data collection tools, and other materials as needed.
Documentation & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of observations, consultations, interventions, and student progress.
  • Complete behavioral reports, progress summaries, and recommendations as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
