Composite Laminator / Production TechnicianThis role focuses on building high-quality composite components for marine products by following detailed work instructions, using hand and power tools, and working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. You will trim, assemble, and finish fiberglass and other composite parts to precise specifications while maintaining strict safety, quality, and cleanliness standards.ResponsibilitiesReview blueprints and follow detailed work instructions for each composite part to ensure accurate production.Trim, grind, and shape composite and fiberglass components using hand tools and power tools to meet exact specifications.Assemble and finish composite parts, including lamination and related processes, to achieve required structural integrity and surface quality.Inspect parts throughout the process to verify accuracy, structural soundness, and overall surface finish, addressing defects as needed.Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition by cleaning, organizing, and reporting any issues promptly.Document work performed in accordance with company guidelines to support traceability and quality control.Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lamination-area protocols.Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support efficient production flow and consistent quality.Take direction from team leads and supervisors, adjusting work priorities as needed to meet production schedules and goals.Collaborate with teammates in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to achieve daily and weekly production targets.Adapt to changing departmental needs, including learning new tasks or processes as required by production demands.Essential SkillsExperience using hand tools and power tools for grinding, trimming, and shaping materials.Hands-on production or manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment.Basic understanding of lamination processes and working with fiberglass or similar materials.Experience in construction, carpentry, marine, molding, painting, or automotive environments, or other transferable industrial skills.Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and detailed work instructions accurately.High school diploma or GED preferred.Ability to stand and walk for 8 or more hours per shift and perform frequent bending, lifting, and twisting.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.Comfort working in dusty, loud, non–climate-controlled environments.Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes and tasks.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work cooperatively with others.Additional Skills & QualificationsBoat or marine manufacturing experience is a plus.Experience with fiberglass lamination or composite molding is highly desirable.Experience in automotive, painting, construction, or carpentry that demonstrates strong hands-on skills.Ability to adapt quickly to changing production needs and learn new techniques.Comfort using PPE such as safety glasses, respirators, and other protective equipment when required.Why Work Here?You will join a supportive, team-focused environment where peers help one another and genuinely enjoy working together. The typical start time is around 6:00 a.m., but start times may vary by department, so flexibility on shift is important. The pace of work is extremely fast, and the team regularly collaborates to meet production goals, often working closely together and even sharing breaks and lunches. The facility is not climate controlled, so it can become very hot in the summer and may be dusty and loud. There is a noticeable paint and lamination odor when entering the work area. Some tasks require full PPE and respirators, while most employees wear safety glasses at a minimum, and adherence to all safety requirements is expected. The environment emphasizes teamwork, mutual support, and a strong sense of camaraderie while maintaining high safety and quality standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moncks Corner, SC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
