Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities Lead Requirements Elicitation & Management: Own the development of detailed software-level interface and functional specifications for the UCM in JAMA, ensuring full traceability from vehicle-level requirements down to module interfaces. Support Key UCM Functions: Establish requirements for core module features, including cell balancing, State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), thermal management, and power electronics control algorithms. Manage Supplier Integration: Work closely with Full-Service Suppliers (FSS) to explain requirements, review technical proposals, manage the Statement of Work (SOW)/RFQ packages, and control requirement change-management. Drive Functional Safety & Cyber Security: Collaborate with safety specialists to implement ISO 26262 requirements, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Functional Safety Requirements (FSR), and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR). Manage Network & Diagnostic Interfaces: Manage communication (CAN, LIN), and diagnostic (UDS) interfaces for the UCM. Coordinate Cross-Functional Reviews: Conduct software design and requirement reviews with interfacing Ford activities, Module Hardware, Power Net Controls, and supplier engineering. Support Validation & Testing: Align subsystem-level validation plans and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, with the defined requirements to ensure complete coverage. Agile Collaboration: Facilitate effective collaboration between JIRA Saga owners, product owners, and supplier software teams to ensure efficient and timely software delivery across programs.
