Job Description: Hawthorne Quality Pet Care Lawndale, CA Hawthorne Quality Pet Care is a dedicated small animal veterinary practice located in Lawndale, CA. We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, along with excellent time management and a positive, team-oriented attitude, are essential to success in this role. - Prepare animals and surgical instruments for procedures
- Perform dental cleanings, including extractions when needed
- Administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
- Provide emergency first aid and general nursing care
- Collect and accurately record patient histories and clinical information
- Educate clients on post-treatment care and at-home protocols
- Safely restrain animals for exams and procedures
- Conduct in-house diagnostics, including radiographs
- Dispense medications and clearly explain usage to clients
- Perform venipuncture and place intravenous catheters
- Induce, intubate, and monitor patients under anesthesia
- Administer oral, IV, IM, and subcutaneous therapies
- Triage urgent and critical care cases
- Minimum 12 years of veterinary technician experience (licensed or unlicensed)
- Strong multitasking abilities and calm under pressure
- Experience with anesthesia, dental procedures, and emergency care
- Familiarity with veterinary software and medical documentation
