divh2Podiatrist Opportunity/h2pThe Podiatrist will provide high-quality treatment, including but not limited to routine foot care, treatment of abscesses and ulcers, and management of biomechanical and orthopedic conditions. Due to facility constraints, surgical procedures will be limited to minor procedures, including incisions and drainage of small skin abscesses, partial toenail avulsions, and debridement of superficial skin ulcers on the foot. There is no obligation to commit to specific days or shifts you work on your terms, only when youre available./li/ulpThis opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking to supplement their income or enjoy flexible work arrangements with minimal commitments./ph2Responsibilities/h2pKey Responsibilities:/pulliCollect and record podiatry treatment and histories./liliOrder appropriate laboratory studies, and make referrals for residents as necessary./liliDiagnose, treat, and consult with other medical specialists of residents foot disorders./liliDiagnosis will consist of foot examinations including vascular, neurological, dermatological, orthopedic and bio-mechanical examinations./liliCoordinate services and participate with other disciplines in interpreting and evaluating programs./liliPrescribe appropriate drug therapy and make appropriate adjustments as needed./liliFollow facility directives, SOPs and policies in infection control and sterilization of reusable medical instruments./liliParticipate in care planning for residents upon request of other medical staff./liliParticipate in facility committee activities upon request./liliThe podiatrist must help remove and put back on residents shoes and socks before and after treatment as necessary./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulh2Qualifications/h2pQualifications Heres What You Need:/pulliDoctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited institution/liliTwo (2) years of podiatry experience, preferably in the field of geriatrics./liliThe following documents are required for credentialing the podiatrist:/liulliCurrent license in Washington, DC/liliCertification/liliProfessional school attended (to include diplomas)/liliDeclaration of health/liliRelevant training or experience/liliInitial application for clinic privileges/liliDelineation of privileges/liliStatement of application/liliPrivacy act statement/liliCurriculum vitae/liliCPR certification (BLS)/liliContinuing education certificates/liliNational criminal background check (DC, MD, VA, and any additional states worked/lived in the last seven (7) years)/liliDrug screening/liliPPD and vaccination record (influenza and COVID-19)/liliTd/Tdap (up to date)/liliDEA registration/li/ulliMust be able to pass a background check.
