Your responsibilities include: Assist in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness, organization, safety and production in the areas of responsibilities. Supervise staff of 15-25 at any given time and coordinate work assignments to accomplish required tasks. Address the importance of detail orientation, clear communication, and teamwork while working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Monitor completion of daily work assignments and prioritize and delegate tasks to staff. Interact with the culinary, banquet and other outlet managers as needed. Assist in maintaining all equipment by notifying engineering of required repairs. Ensure proper use of equipment and cleaning supplies. Maintain organization of all food and beverage equipment and supplies in all areas of responsibility. Train staff on his/her shift, assessing abilities through practical exercises and daily pre-shifts. Ensure all banquet functions are properly set with sufficient equipment and required stewarding responsibilities. Maintain compliance with local health department, safety and code regulations. Assist with safety and breakage awareness programs. Assist with quarterly inventories, dish machine monitoring, perpetual inventories, and chemical counts. Carry on day-to-day floor operations in the absence of an Executive Steward or Assistant Executive Steward. Attend daily BEO meetings when necessary and prepare BEO set‑up sheets a day in advance. Assist with receiving all stewarding purchases. Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards. Supportive duties include: Report for work as scheduled in proper uniform and appearance standards. Notify appropriate individuals of all significant problems and unusual matters. Act politely, friendly and helpful to guests, management and employees. Attend hotel meetings and training sessions. Promote teamwork skills at all times. Execute emergency standards in accordance with hotel standards. Comply with safety regulations, policies and procedures. Adhere to hotel department standards, policies and rules. Remain current with hotel information and changes. Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area. Qualifications Previous stewarding experience in a large-volume hotel is highly preferred. Experience in high-volume food and beverage operations. Strong organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Effective communication in English, both verbal and written, with team members, leaders and guests.
