Maintenance/Custodial Worker

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial Worker on behalf of our client, a Hospitals and Healthcare company. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and well-functioning facility through custodial services, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs. The role helps ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, common spaces, and facility surfaces.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems.
• Complete minor repairs involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other building trades.
• Identify maintenance needs and report complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Diagnose routine maintenance problems and determine appropriate repair methods.
• Follow established safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Interpret basic sketches, blueprints, layouts, and written instructions as needed.
• Prioritize work assignments and manage time effectively while working with minimal supervision.
• Perform other maintenance and custodial duties as assigned.

Requirements include:
Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• Experience in custodial, maintenance, facilities, or building trades work preferred.
• Experience performing basic repairs and preventive maintenance is a plus.

Skills:

• Ability to perform semi-skilled and skilled work across multiple building trades.
• Ability to use standard tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.

Certifications:

• None required; applicable trade or safety certifications are a plus.

Knowledge:

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and plastering practices.
• Knowledge of workplace hazards and safety precautions related to building maintenance.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements and facility safety practices.
