Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 17 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU or STICU in level 1-2 trauma centers License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with ICU devices such as balloon pumps, impellas, and CRRT Description: The unit has a strict 75-mile radius restriction. The unit has 20 beds and generally maintains a 2:1 patient ratio, but 1:1 is not uncommon for higher acuity patients. Patients include those with neuro conditions, orthopedic trauma requiring traction, cardiovascular devices, and post-operative open-heart CABG patients. Open abdomens from the operating room are often re-opened at the bedside. The unit will also include an ECMO program starting this summer. The ideal candidates will have experience in intensive care settings and an ability to manage diverse patient populations. Renal patients requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) will also be present, which is managed by nursing staff. Medical ICU patients may be admitted if beds are needed due to high occupancy in sister units.
